It is with a heart full of praise that I can tell you that it went well with our friend’s surgery and the doctors determined that she does not have cancer! They had to remove her kidney because of a tumor, but she does not have cancer! So we are all relieved and thankful towards our Heavenly Father. Thank you for praying with us.
This weekend I worked at a retreat for teenage girls. I was working in the kitchen, so I didn’t experience a lot of what was happening in the sessions. But we could sense the change in the girls everytime they came for a meal. And listening to their testimonies at the end of the camp was awesome. I know many of them went back
home with a deeper understanding of God’s love and a new commitment to serve Him. The theme of the weekend was “Princess Warriors” and I believe that some of these girls now know and believe that they are beautiful, no matter what the world says!
Something personal the Lord did for me this weekend: One of the ladies working the weekend danced to a song called Cinderella. Well, we all know that Cinderella worked like a slave and then turned into a princess after the prince put the silver slipper/shoe on her foot. . . and then it hit me: this is what the Lord has done for me! For too long I was just like Cinderella. I did not believe that I was beautiful (forget the princess part) and I was like a slave captured in my insecurities. I never felt good enough about myself or my abilities. But my Prince and the Lover of my soul came and put that silver slipper on my foot and now I am a princess! When I realised this, all that I could do was cry and tell my Prince how thankful I am.
“He has taken me to the banquet hall, and His banner over me is love.” (Song of Songs 2:4)
“Many waters cannot quench (His) love; rivers cannot wash it away.” (S.o.S 8:7)
And now it is my prayer that He will teach me to be the pricess He wants me to be. (I want to think and live like His princess!)
