I received this little revelation on Easter Sunday, so this blog update is way late. Sorry. But here it is!
We were reading from Luke 24:1-12 and the pastor was talking about Easter’s empty promises. An empty cross, an empty tomb and empty burial linen. But I wasn’t paying much attention to him, because something else caught my attention. It was the
women who got up early in the morning to go to Jesus’ grave to anoint His body. They were the
servants, just going to serve out of love, like any other day. But this wasn’t any ordinary day. On this day they received the biggest revelation ever. As servants (and as women) they received the Good News first! Jesus is alive! He has risen! They also had to take this message to the disciples. Not that the men believed them … but this doesn’t matter. As servants they were not forgotten!
In Swaziland it is the gogo’s (the grandmothers) that are the servants. They take the orphans or abandoned children into their houses and they take care of them. They are also the ones running the carepoints as volunteers. They cook for the children, teach them and look after them during the day. They are great. And I know that God sees them too and that they too are not forgotten.
(PS. Men, please listen more to your wives. God might just want to use your wife to tell you something !)
It’s great when people recieve revelation, even when you are not listening to the Pastor. We Pastors forgive you. (:
I love your hearts. God bless!
