Yes, my heart belongs to Jesus and to my husband, but it was also stolen by 4 of the cutest little Swazi's. Let me introduce them to you! They all go to the same care point, Thulwane, one of my favorite care points.
The first little guy who stole my heart was Sakhile Mamba, or just Mr. Mamba! The first time I went to the care point, he ran up to me with his arms in the air, wanting me to pick him up. As I picked him up, his grandmother came closer and told me that I should be careful; he is a snake and he bites. At first I didn't understand her and I just laughed at her, but then I discovered that his last name is Mamba (a snake specie) and he does bite! He bites to protect himself from the other children. He has never bitten me, but he bites the children who come close to me whenever I am holding him.
So these days when I pull up at the care point, his face lights up and he is the first one to run right into my arms. And as I pick him up, I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the love I have in my heart for this little guy.
He is one of the lucky children in
Swaziland. He still has his mom (Zodwa) who is taking care of him and they live with his grandmother (Gogo Nomsa). His mom is the pre-school teacher at the care point and his grandmother is in charge of the care point. They don't get paid to do this, they do it because they care for the children. Their homestead is nothing fancy and his grandmother is also taking care of numerous other children; some is her own grandchildren and some is abandoned children from the community.
