Last week Jumbo and I visited a few of the care points together; Jumbo wanted to check on all the building projects that are going on. It is truly amazing to see what the Lord is doing and how He is providing for these projects through friends, supporters, sponsors and people with open, giving, obedient hearts.

If you are part of the above, we want to thank you. We are excited about every project and every involvement. May God bless you in abundance!

For me it was also nice to visit the care points with Jumbo; driving together in the same car. Usually I have a bunch of people in my car going somewhere, while Jumbo has a bunch in his car going somewhere else. It felt so right to do these visits together. And I guess this is how God intended it to be; husband and wife serving Him together.

It was of course good to see the children; especially my favorites. (I know I know, I shouldn’t have them … BUT … I do!) Currently the schools are on break and it was nice to see the older children helping the ladies cooking and serving the food. We even saw some boys stirring the pots. I had to take a quick picture of them (they were rather shy), because it is not everyday that you see a man or a boy cooking in Swaziland!

  1. Amen for that doing things together! That is my motto in life, if Colin & I cannot do it together, then it doesn’t feel right>
    Love you lots

  2. Thanks for loving the kids so well. We’re thrilled that Marius and Jodi are riding to the rescue soon. God is using you guys in a powerful way and is bringing you the help you need!

  3. Where did he take you after for the date?!!! Love you guys… look in one another’s eye’s tonight!!

  4. glad to have you back there – and I noticed the boy stirring is spilling over the side – just like I do when i cook!

  5. yeah for time together, and for serving together. i loved watching the two of you at the carepoints, you both have such a huge heart for the kids, especially your favorites ; )

  6. You two are unbelievable. I can’t tell you enough how thankful I am for you and what you do to sacrificially serve the kids in Swazi. Love ya!

  7. Ya’ll need to quit all of that “Ushy-gushy” ‘together’ stuff and get your butts back to work. The next blog we read will be about ya’ll holding hands or something insane like that! Geez!

Seriously, the two of you doing this thing ‘together’ is more powerful than we can imagine. The Swazi culture, as splintered as men and women (family) are, need a living, breathing example of what God intends for ‘together’ to be. Please make it a point to visibly do things together. In the process of setting an outward Godly example, you are forging the inward bond of togetherness that cannot be destroyed.

Thank you for being ‘together’ in Swazi. It makes the children happy. It makes God happy. It brings forth healing to a hurting land. Continue to be the light and may God continue to bless both of you!

  8. Kriek… you are beautiful as ever. How blessed these children are to have you and Jumbo. Know we lift you up always in prayer. We are so excited about our church launching into the ‘Big Bend’ area…. perhaps we will meet face to face again one day! Our love to you both and also to the ‘kids’.
