It is heartbreaking to live here in Swaziland!!! One of our friends that are HIV positive was just here in my office and he was literally crying like a baby. He is starting to loose control of some of his bodily functions and he nearly can not walk anymore. He is one of the “lucky ones” because he is on ARV’s, but there is no ARV’s available in any of the hospitals. He went from one hospital to another the whole day in search of the medication that is suppose to increase his live expectancy. None of the hospitals have any in stock!!!! How can that be??
If you know something about ARV’s then you know that if you skip a dosage you are done, but what should a guy like him do if there is no stock in the hospitals where he is suppose to get it for free. He can not work and he can not afford to buy it at the pharmacy. It is just the hard realities of this country and continent. Please pray for him and the many others that are going thru the same struggle.
For those who are worried we did help him out today, but what of tomorrow. That’s the question that is haunting me the past few days. We must work on a long term solution for the people that we minister to and move away from the poverty mentality of quick fixes for today and not taking in to account tomorrow.
I appreciate yout updates. You are definitely on the front lines of battle. I lift you to The Throne regularly.
God bless
