A ladies retreat
I cannot believe another week has gone by so fast. Last weekend Julie Anderson, one of our AIM staff members here in
Swaziland, held a camp for the precious ladies volunteering at the care points. I have been wanting to tell you about it the whole week, but suddenly it is Friday again. So here goes …
The ladies attending the weekend are the ladies cooking and teaching at the care points. But this is not all the do; they are also making bags / purses which are being sold to help them make an income. So with Julie’s help, they have started a co-op and they are making bags like crazy! They meet Mondays and Thursdays at one of the care points (Bhekilanga) where they come to get new material for the bags, work on their bags together and spend time in God’s Word.
I wasn’t there for the whole weekend, but I stopped by a few times and every time I was there, there was always laughter! (Many times they were laughing at themselves or at each other!) The theme of the weekend was 1 John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us.”
It was good to see them pray together and spend time in God’s Word together. They also played some fun games. Some of the games though helped them to get to know each other and themselves better. It was also about team work and helping each other. Julie also taught them a few new skills. They made bracelets from beads
and they baked cookies and banana bread.
On Sunday before they left they got some new clothes (still some of the clothing that has been given to us by those 2 South African churches). And then of course we gave them some good old Kentucky Fried Chicken for lunch. This they really loved.

Lekker om van julle te hoor en te sien wat Vader alles deur julle in Swaziland doen. Ons kan gerus kuier as julle weer in Pta is.
