Nowhere vs Somewhere

Hallo dear friends!

Sorry that we are so slow with updating our blog! We are still traveling all over South Africa and we are doing well.

We have had a couple of busy days, but we also had some awesome fun. Right now we are in Pretoria. Last weekend we were in a cold and windy Jeffreys Bay setting up for the new First Year Missionary (FYM) team. And this past Friday (in the morning) we picked up the Pretoria FYM team at Johannesburg airport. We also had the wonderful opportunity to pick up the World Race
Yellow and
Lime teams at the airport that same night and we have been spending some time with them.

Yesterday (Saturday) we went to watch a live rugby game at the stadium! It was so much fun. (For our American friends: watching a live rugby game is like going to a stadium to watch a football game!) Our team lost, but it was a good game and we had a good time. ( Rugby is almost like a religion here; it is true patriotism to watch rugby.)

This morning we had a blessed time of worship and fellowship with friends and the FYM’s. Serving God like we are doing right now is an awesome adventure and privilege, but sometimes the enemy comes and tries to discourage us and we start to wonder if we are still on the right way and doing what we should be doing. This morning God gave us awesome Scripture!

It is in Psalm 119 and I am quoting from the Message Bible (I think it is verse 25 or 26):

Barricade the road that goes Nowhere:

Grace me with your clear revelation.

I choose the true road to Somewhere,

I post your road signs at every curve and corner.

I grasp and cling to whatever you tell me;

God, don’t let me down!

I’ll run the course you lay out for me

If you’ll just show me how.

What more do I have to say?

Tuesday we are getting the Real Life team at the airport and Wednesday we will be going to Swaziland.

What about visas? We still haven’t applied for visas. Our paperwork was suppose to come with the FYM’s, but it was stolen with a laptop at some airport after they lost the luggage of the poor FYM’ers. But we also feel that it will be a good thing for us to go to Swaziland for the next 2 months and then try again to go back.

Hey, our plans and thoughts are not always God’s plans and thoughts!
